Welcome to Metropolitan Chess, Inc.

Metropolitan Chess, Inc. is a chess corporation in the greater Los Angeles area.

It is the goal of Metropolitan Chess, Inc. to promote and support the game of chess through community outreach and local, national, and international partnerships. We also aim to increase awareness of the educational value of chess, and ultimately provide greater opportunities for chess players of all strengths in which to learn, develop and grow.  To this aim, we run regular GM/IM norm tournaments.

On February 22nd, 2012, our 16th Metropolitan Chess FIDE Invitational was held. Concurrently, our 17th Metropolitan Chess FIDE Qualifier was held. FM Philip Xiao Wang won the Invitational with a score of 6.5-2.5, also scoring his third IM norm in the process. Expert Kofi Tatum  and Expert Kesav Viswanadha won the qualifier.

Our 2012 International and 2012 Invitational Camp dates have been announced. Our International will run from August 14th to 18th, 2012, while our invitational camp will run from August 9th to 13th, 2012. IGM and World Champion Viswanathan Anand will be a lead instructor in our invitational camp for 2012.
